Key to Looking Younger! Education of Products and dermalogica and Jan Marini!

My favorite skin care brands that I’ve used (or still use) personally are typically ones that I used professionally in the past. This is usually because I was thoroughly trained via classes and seminars put on by the brands themselves, attended aesthetic conferences with workshops, or simply taught by the brand or cosmeceutical or pharmaceutical rep within the office or spa.

When you’re professionally trained you understand how and why each product works whether by understanding the ingredients used, the science which makes it work (bio-availability and what part of the skin and underlying cells its affecting and why that is), indications for usage and what the expected outcome should be, as well as proper application technique (absorbability, mechanical means, steps, etc.).

When I think of the ultimate example of a brand that trains exceptionally well, two skin care companies come to mind. Dermalogica and Jan Marini! Both lines are phenomenally effective and results oriented, easy to use, indication specific and extremely professional. They are constantly evolving and are the leaders in cutting edge science in relation to skincare.

You can find both at many professional day and medical spas as well as many dermatology offices. I buy both my Dermalogica and my Jan Marini products at www.spalook.com because that’s much more convenient for me and they are a lot more competively priced.

You will never find me out of stock of my two favorite dermalogica and Jan Marini products as they are crucial to my skin care regimen and to my looks! LOL I always have a back up of each.

dermalogica AGE smart power rich is an amazing pharmaceutical strength treatment that moisturizes brilliantly, reverses the signs of aging, softens, firms and tones and stimulates cellular turnover and renewal. It’s pricey, but more than worth it. This is probably my pick for the best skincare product on the market.

Next is my Jan Marini C-ESTA Facial Mask. The effects are instant and absolutely amazing. I always use it before important occasions or when I want to look my ultimate best. It is seriously the closest thing to an instant facelift I’ve ever used. I can’t even begin to tell you how much you will love this mask!

My girlfriend Debbie obsesses over eye cream and it always makes me laugh because she has the best eyes ever! Her brows are lifted and her eyelids are not saggy and the bottoms of her eyes have no bags or dark circles. And then it hit me that maybe the fact that she obsesses over eye products is exactly why her eye area is so beautiful!

Elizabeth Arden! Part Two!

So today I said I’d chat about the individual lines within the superb Elizabeth Arden brand. I also mentioned I’d share with you my very own Elizabeth Arden products I use in my all inclusive Elizabeth Arden regimen!

First a little about each of the lines:

Basic Skincare: Every regimen needs the basics and beautiful skin starts with a basic regimen. Whether you individualize and/or potentiate your regimen with serums and treatments or not; skin needs to be cleansed, moisturized, and protected twice daily to remain beautiful and get even more gorgeous. And the fact that Elizabeth Arden uses the ultimate in ingredients and offers products for all skin types means that you’ll be even further ahead than most skincare lines. RoC On and Ahava Spa Day!

One of my favorite brands for Anti-Aging is RoC! Roc products are affordable and have quality results-oriented ingredients and technology. Roc has been devoted to skincare and anti-aging since its founding in France in 1957.

Today we’ll take a look at oil control and supplementing moisture.

StriVectinSD Anti-Aging Set! Great Deal! Part Two!

I rarely write about good deals from different websites and retail stores even though I definitely love a bargain and would love for you guys to get a great value as well. But usually instead I opt for writing about how products work, how effective they are, how they’re packaged and what others are saying about them. Basically I feel my job is to educate and inform about skincare and cosmetics as opposed to finding great deals.

But the deal I recently stumbled upon was just way too good to not tell you all about it. I jumped on it and you may want to as well.

I’m sure most of you are familiar with StriVectinSD the stretch mark cream that turned into about the biggest anti-aging cream phenomenon over this first decade of this new century if not the whole millennium!

For those of you who are not familiar with it…here’s a little synopsis. StriVectinSD was formulated to help with repairing stretch marks but was found to work wonders on the face, neck and décolleté as well but for anti-aging issues.

It works incredibly well as a moisturizer along with erasing fine lines and wrinkles, brown spots, scarring, firming and smoothing skin texture. Additionally, it comes in a six ounce tube so it lasts a really long time. Some complain about the $135 price tag but those of us who know the product well know that it is a great value in the long run. It works and it lasts a very long time…Nuff said!

Since StriVectinSD sold like hot cakes the company who makes it decided (actually they were probably begged) to make other incredible skin care products for anti-aging. They answered our prayers and hit it spot on most every time! Two favorites among those of us who follow their every move like groupies to a rock band are StriVectin Eye Cream (same great formulation as original but without aromatic oils such as peppermint and designed to be more gentle for the delicate eye area) and StriVectinWF Instant Deep Wrinkle Filler (instant gratification!). I’ve used all three of these products many times over the last few years but I’ve never purchased them as a kit or set. Perhaps there was no kit or I just reordered without ever thinking about searching for a specific kit. Not sure…but what I am sure of is I certainly found one now!

SkinStore.com’s killer deal “StriVectinSD Anti-Aging Set” (which includes the three products mentioned) made me think of that IKEA commercial where the lady gets such a great deal she thinks that they made a mistake and jumps in the car screaming “go…get out of here”…or something along those lines. That is so funny to me because I’ve felt the exact same way before when I’ve gotten a really good deal!

Decleor Paris is Delightful and Results Driven!

Have any of you ever tried Decleor Aromessence? I’m in love with Decleor Aromessence Essential Balm. It’s a 911 must-have when your skin is extremely dehydrated or used before bed as an incredible night cream. I love it when I’ve gotten a little too much sun or I’ve been exposed to any drying elements such as a long flight or other skin dehydrating circumstances (it’s extremely concentrated so remember a little bit goes a long way). About two years ago I lost 500 dollars. I was devastated because I thought that possibly somebody had stolen it when I had gone out on the bay to kayak with my friends. I had 5 brand new 100 dollar bills. I don’t know why I kept it instead of depositing it into the bank; but I did. And sure enough a day or two later I realized it was gone.

It was in a little bank envelope thing and I could have sworn I put it in my dresser. But when I went to go get it a couple of days later for a trip to Nor Cal it was no longer where I was just sure I had placed it. I was devastated. I looked everywhere. But to no avail. A day or two later after searching high and low I succumbed to the sinking feeling in my stomach that it was gone for good.

I had thought about it quite a few times over the last couple of years but quickly told myself to not do the would’ve, could’ve, should’ve routine or I’d make myself sick.

After work one day a few weeks ago I decided to do more organizing and work on downsizing some of the boxes in my extra bedroom. I sat there arguing with myself about what to keep and what to throw away when I came across a little box that contained those little pogs that my girls collected about ten years ago. I had forgotten all about that prized collection and poured them out just laughing at what people collect. When it comes to the best possible products for your skincare regimen you must dig deep in the pocket. That’s not to say there aren’t fabulous products that are cheap, because there are indeed. However, if you have some extra cash you should check out Euoko line. It is one of the best brands out there for anti-aging that I’m aware of. Well at least their Y (anti-aging) line is. I’m sure the W (whitening) R (radiance) P (protection) and A (acne) lines are superb as well but I just have not tried them myself. I really wanted the Euoko Y-30 Intense Lift Concentrate but at this time I couldn’t spend 500 bucks. However the next time Skinstore.com has their 20% sale I’m going to kick down the dough. However, I did decide to take the plunge and buy their Euoko Y-41 Eye Contour Nanolift. It is well worth the $300 I paid for it. I have had the best results ever when it comes to an eye cream. I’m so glad I did it. Now I will definitely feel comfortable paying for the Y-30 Intense Lift Concentrate because I know I will be getting the results I paid for. I figure if I’m going to spend a hundred bucks on 5 or 10 other anti-aging products I can buy one of these concentrates and possibly save money in the long run. Besides in the beauty world paying 100 bucks for an eye cream is actually mid range. In fact its low compared to most. They say less is more and I agree that in terms of quantity; but in terms of getting that bang for your buck I say paying more is more. This is one time you get what you pay for really applies.

I can’t speak for everyone but for me this is my eye treatment must have. I just can’t wait to get the Euoko Y-30 Intense Lift Concentrate because I have a feeling I’m going to love it!!!
