Every treatment including home laser treatments have safety and complications issue that sun exposure can cause such as making the skin irritated and sensitive...essentially wounded from the sun. Additionally, laser hair removal works best on fair skin with dark hairs. At least that's always the way it's been to the best of my knowledge. In fact, my girlfriend who is an RN in a plastic surgeon's office who does most of the injectables and less strong laser treatments (meaning more non-invasive lasers such as laser hair removal or weaker laser equipment that isn't considered laser surgery) was telling me that she needed to practice hair removal on someone...so I said "oh you can practice on me!" And she said, "Well actually laser hair removal works best on fair skin, with dark hair." So I look at her and we both look down at my golden arm with white blonde fuzzy hair...and we both laughed! Even though I'm blonde, I'm native american and so my skin is kind of golden brown. So what I'm saying is there are a number of contraindications...some that are safety issues; and some that are simply not indicated for certain types and/or tones due to efficacy. Having said that always read any directions and product information whether it's for this device or any other. As you may or may not be an ideal candidate and as always you need to make an informed decision to continue with any treatment.
