Essential Oils – Best Choices to Revive and Relax
When I speak of essential oils I’m most often referring to them in terms of skin care (although there are a number of other uses for them as well). Additionally, when I speak of essential oils I’m referring to them as being formulated into certain products in order to produce certain and specific effects. Essential oils can be healing, repairing, soothing, reviving and a variety of other affects that can be beneficial when used within a skin, hair or body care regimen. Most any beauty treatment can be highly effective when the right combinations of essential oils are used. The scents derived from the oils can often create a positive reaction…this process is known as aroma therapy.
The goal today is to talk about essential oils that are used in beauty and bath products that can either help you completely unwind after a difficult, stressful and exhausting day or revitalize you with plenty of energy and pep to get you through the day. Either scenario can be induced simply by choosing the right products with the proper essential oil infusion.
Mood Altering and skin revitalization and repair are but a few of the benefits of essential oil and aromatherapy, albeit certainly my favorites!
To Revive
For those who want to feel uplifted, energized and invigorated; look for bath and body products that contain lemon, citrus, rosemary and juniper. These essential oils (when infused into products) can promote these mood elevating properties. Additionally, they contain other properties that can clarify, tone and detoxify the skin.
To Relax
Ahhh….sweet relaxation! What’s better than a long soak in the tub? I’ll tell you what’s better…A long soak in the tub WITH bath products infused with precious essential oils that are known to relax and soothe the mind, body (including the skin!) and soul. The essential oils that are known to have these relaxing properties are lavender which is keen for regulating the nervous system, magnolia for calming tense muscles, mango, ylang-ylang and vanilla oil for de-stressing, and lovely chamomile, vetivert and sandalwood for a feeling of peace and tranquility.
