No matter the ethnicity, hair type, hair color or hair length…the one common denominator for 2012 hair, is that virtually anything goes! Hairstyles are so broad spectrum this season that I wouldn’t even know which one to report on in terms of popularity. I suppose if I really had to choose which seems to reign this year, I guess I’d have to go with the pony tail. Pony tails are ruling the runways this year no matter the fashion theme. Typically they’re being worn sleek, straight and elegant, but sloppy, messy dos and buns are having their way on the fashion runway as well.

As stated, there are a number of hair styles trending this year. Everything from the 50’s inspired bouffant to the 70’s hippy chic is in vogue. The latter being tousled loose hair without volume (and yes…you guessed it…a center part!). Hair styles this year tend to be either extremely groomed and executed or they are as simple as an ‘I-just-got-outta-bed’ look. Hair styles that are tightly coiffed are often adorned with accessories such as barrettes, pins and other fashionable hair bobbles and trinkets to keep those tresses sleek and extraordinary!

This writer wholeheartedly agrees with the look, appeal and convenience of the perky and pretty pony tail…but I’m not so sure about the center part tousled 70’s inspired look (sans volume)…unless of course they amp up the volume!
