Katniss is more than a name…it’s a state of being. It’s a personality…it’s a way of life…and The Hunger Games portrays the aptly named character that Jennifer Lawrence plays in the movie, brilliantly. The heroine is small in stature, yet is as strong as a giant. She is wise beyond her years and has the ability to think outside of the box. She displays the importance of sacrifice and uses her young wisdom and survival skills to bring about change to what many would consider a corrupt society. Of course, she isn’t perfect…but she is indeed inspiring young girls to learn to stand up for themselves, be strong and that their thoughts and decisions do matter and can promote change.
